NATO and The Warsaw Pact

nato was a alliance with between european countries and countries from north america like the united states. They made this alliance to make a mutual defense at the atacks of the soviet unions.
But the soviet union also had a nother alliance group with other european countries. The group was called Warsaw Pact. this alliance was supposed to be another mutual defense alliance like the North Atlantic Treaty, and was created in response to the alliance of the NATO.

Film Lesson: Schindler's List

The movie Schindler's List was one of the grate st movie i have ever seen. for me it was a good movie because it showed many stuff that i dint know and had happened long time ago. For example how the Jewish people were treated during world war 2. The Nazi's hurt many Jewish in many ways, they destroyed family's and killed many Jewish people. they wanted to get rid of them and one solution for them was to send them to concentration camps in Swaziland. One scene that i liked the most was when the family's were separated from each other. i like it because it made me see how mother did everything they could to not let go of their children. One of the images that it will stay for ever in my mind is the dead body's of the Jewish. When i saw that i was impressed because it was so sad for me to see all of the Jewish people dead.

the movie night and fog was one of the grates movie i have ever seen, because tells everything that happened in the past to Jewish people. When i saw the movie i was impressed because of the type of treatment that was given to the Jewish by the Nazi's.I think that the Schindler list was better because it show us how the Jewish reacted to the aggression and how they looked.
The documentary was different because it only showed us pictures but we couldn't see much as we did with the film. Also because the film Schindler helped us see how the children in that time feel about the way Jewish were discriminated.

Film Lesson - "Gandhi"

Mahatma Gandhi became a very important person for the indian people.
He was born in 1869 and died in 1948. Gandhi helped the indian people to get indepence by encourageing the Indians to boycott British goods and buy Indian goods instead. He believed that acts of violence against the British only provoked a negative reaction so he always fight in a passive way. He was in prison in 1922, 1930, 1933 and in 1942 Gandhi was so famous that while he was in prison he went to a hunger strike. He did many thing to help the indian people to get indepedence. the Indian Independence Act was signed in 1947. Also in 1947 Atlee announced that Britain would leave India.
i think that india got independence thanks to Mahatma Gandhi because as a leader he gelped many indian people to fight for things by not using violence the way that he encourage people to fight was in a passive way. he was very famous that his death in prison made international headlines and greatly embarrass the British at a time when Britain was condemning dictators in Europe.

Mustafa Kemal (Ataturk) and the Modernization of Turkey

Mustafa kemal was born in 1881, he became a very important person for the people in turkey. when he was 35 years old he liberated two major provinces in eastern Turkey, he became in 1919 the leader of the Turkish emancipation. he did many changes and one of those were that he change schools and made them more secular. secular means the pertaining to worldly things or to things that are not regarded as religious, spiritual, or sacred.
